Beginning September 12, 2026, Arizona Notaries Public must obtain a signer’s right thumbprint in the notary journal when notarizing a Power of Attorney or certain documents affecting real property, including deeds, quitclaim deeds, and deeds of trust. If the signer cannot provide a right thumbprint, Arizona law provides alternatives for another available fingerprint or for documenting that a fingerprint cannot be provided. This requirement is in addition to the other identification, personal appearance, journal, and notarization requirements that apply to the transaction.

Appointments outside our primary service area may be available by request and may include additional travel fees.
Arizona notaries may charge up to $10 per notarial act. The total appointment cost may also include a separate travel or mobile-service fee based on the location, travel distance, appointment time, and scheduling requirements. Additional charges may apply for evenings, late-night appointments, weekends, holidays, same-day service, urgent requests, extended wait times, or appointments outside our primary service area. Yes. An Arizona Notary Public can notarize a Power of Attorney when the required conditions for the notarization are met. The signer must personally appear before the notary, provide satisfactory evidence of identity, and be willing and able to complete the notarial act. Beginning September 12, 2026, Arizona law also requires a signer of a Power of Attorney to place their right thumbprint in the notary’s journal. If the right thumbprint is unavailable, Arizona law provides procedures for using another available fingerprint or documenting a physical inability to provide one.
